OROFINO

Luigi Orofino was born in Enna, in the very centre of Sicily.

In 2016 he moved to Ortigia island, in Siracusa, where he met Erlend Øye, Marco Castello, Stefano Ortisi and other musicians. With them he can eventually give way to his strong music calling, deepening his self-taught knowledge of the cavaquinho, the king instrument of Brazilian music, which he is very fond of.

In 2018, along with Castello and Ortisi, he accompanied Erlend Øye on his south american tour. It’s during that trip that La Comitiva project took shape. Since then the four of them have been relentlessly on tour all over the world for a couple of years.

During the pandemic, in 2020, Luigi devotes himself to a brand-new music project. One year later, in October 2021, he recorded his first song “Amsterdam”, with other fellow musicians. In the same year this song goes under the skilful hands of Dj Tennis that makes an inspired remix of the track.
